Outgoing mail ports on DataPasa VPS

Outgoing mail ports are closed on every plan by default. This protects our IP addresses from spam blacklists, which keeps email from all customers deliverable.

Why mail ports are closed

When a single server sends spam, the whole IP range can end up on blacklists. Keeping mail ports closed until they are needed prevents this. You accept this rule in the Before you order notice when placing an order.

How to get the ports opened

  1. Open Support Center in the panel and create a New ticket.
  2. Select the server in Related service.
  3. Describe what you are going to send: the project, the type of mail (transactional, notifications, newsletters) and the expected volume.

Depending on the case we may ask for:

  • identity verification (KYC);
  • a security deposit equal to one year of the server price;
  • or a one-time fee of $25 per IP address.

Send email without opening the ports

Most applications do not need their own mail server. You can send mail through an external provider over its HTTPS API, for example Amazon SES, Postmark, Resend, Mailgun or Brevo. The API works over the normal HTTPS port, which is open on every server, and you usually get better deliverability than from a fresh IP.
