Scan a QR code in your bank app, add funds to your balance and run a KVM server that is charged one hour at a time. No card and no long contract needed.
PIX is offered through Stripe, the same checkout we use for cards. You create a top-up in the panel, Stripe shows a PIX QR code and a copy and paste code, and you approve the payment in your bank app. Once Stripe confirms it, the amount appears on your DataPasa balance and you can order a server.
Sign-up needs only an email address. During checkout, Stripe may ask for the payer details that PIX payments require, such as your CPF or CNPJ.
Sign in to cloud.datapasa.com and open Finances.
Pick the Stripe method (cards, PIX and more) and enter the amount in USD, at least $5.
Click Top up and choose PIX on the Stripe page.
Scan the QR code or paste the PIX code in your bank app and confirm.
Order a VPS. It is ready in a few minutes.
Dollars, pounds and reais: what you see where
Your DataPasa balance is held in US dollars, and that is the amount you enter when you top up. Stripe payments are processed in British pounds (GBP), and the PIX checkout converts that into reais, so your bank app shows the amount in BRL. The exact BRL figure depends on the exchange rate at that moment, and you see it before you confirm.
Because the payment goes to a company outside Brazil, it is an international purchase and IOF may apply. The checkout shows the total before you pay. On your bank statement the receiver may appear as Ebanx, the partner that processes PIX for Stripe, rather than as DataPasa.
Latency from Germany to Brazil, honestly
Servers currently run in Falkenstein, Germany. From Brazil, the round trip to Germany is usually somewhere around 180 to 220 ms, depending on your operator and city. For many workloads that is fine: Telegram and Discord bots, n8n and other automation, scheduled jobs, backups, staging servers, and websites served through a CDN that caches pages close to visitors.
It is not ideal for things where every millisecond counts, such as competitive game servers or voice chat for players in Brazil. For those, it makes sense to wait for our São Paulo location, which is coming soon. We will announce it on the site when it opens.
No contract, just a balance
There is no plan to subscribe to and nothing that renews. Every VPS has an hourly rate, and the monthly figure on the plan cards is that rate times 730 hours. VPS-1 with 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB NVMe comes to $1.81 a month, and VPS-3 with 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM to $7.09.
We send an email when your balance falls below 30% of the monthly cost of your servers, so you know when to make another PIX top-up. If the balance reaches zero, servers are suspended for 24 hours with data kept, then deleted. After a successful top-up, the next one becomes available 24 hours later, so add enough for the period you plan to run.
Step by step guides
Written by our team and tested on DataPasa servers.
The PIX transfer itself is confirmed right after you approve it in your bank app, and the balance is normally credited as soon as the checkout page confirms. If an hour passes and the invoice is still unpaid, open a ticket in Support Center and attach the receipt.
The minimum top-up is $5, the same as for other methods. Your bank app shows the equivalent in reais before you confirm.
DataPasa only needs your email to open an account. The Stripe checkout may ask for the payer details that PIX requires, such as a CPF or CNPJ, and your bank handles the rest.
Hours already charged are not refundable. Our refund policy pays back unused card top-ups to the original card, minus any payment provider fees. If you topped up with PIX and want unused balance back, open a support ticket before closing your account and we will tell you what is possible.
Stripe processes PIX through its partner Ebanx, so the receiver on your bank statement may be shown as Ebanx. The payment still lands on your DataPasa balance.
Yes. Pick BRL in the currency menu at the top of the site and plan prices are shown in reais at the current rate. Billing and your balance stay in US dollars.
It is coming soon, but we do not have a date to share yet. Until then, servers run in Falkenstein, Germany.
